If you're posting something just to get a rise out of people, don't.
General Behavior with regards to posting
Self Promotion
Members may not promote items that they have a specific self-interest in. This covers any item where a member stands to make personal or financial gains or traffic to a personal website. Posting links to sites you own is not permissible. Members may not post requests for help with fundraising. If you have a particular cause you would like to post about, please contact TSV Administration to discuss the matter.
Public Posting of Personal Information
Even though you need to be a member of TSV and agree to the terms and conditions to enter the forum, TSV has no control over who reads the posts or who is lurking on TSV Bulletin Board, therefore, posting of personal information (such as personal mailing addresses, phone numbers, private email addresses) is considered unwise and should not posted unless at your own risk. See Privacy Policy in the FAQ.
Any post containing any such information will be removed by the moderator of the forum or the moderators-at-large/Administration of TSV.
Advertising Other Boards/Member Solicitation
Please refrain from creating posts that attempt to solicit members for your community, or advertise other boards or forums. Links to other Bulletin Boards in your profile are allowed and don't require approval from TSV Administration.
Posting of Videos
Please do not attempt to post video content to any forum on the Bulletin Board. The reason for this is due to individuals who have slow connections, but also because there is no way for us to control the content or subject matter of the videos. You may post a link to the video on another site with a ‘May Offend Some’ warning if necessary.
Personal Avatars
Members are to keep their icons to a G rated level. No nudity, nothing obscene, or sexually orientated, nothing that could potentially be offensive. Any Avatars that are deemed to be offensive will be removed.
Charity/Donations/Begging/etc
Charity/Donations
While the Administration of TSV does not discourage charity, all requests for fundraising, support, charitable contributions, etc have to be pre-approved by TSV Administration.
Begging/etc
Any posts that are construed as blatantly begging for materials for "other people" or "this wonderful (unnamed) organization I belong to / am helping out" will face a request for more information by TSV Administration, or to be edited. If they are not edited within a reasonable amount of time, they will be edited or deleted by TSV Administration. This is to protect all members of TSV Forums.
Outright begging for stash, food, money, will not be tolerated.
Profanity
There is no profanity filter on this board. Please refrain from using any sort of profanity. Repeat offenders will be banned from TSV Forum.
Illegal Activity
Illegal activities are not condoned on this board in any form. Any posts engaging in or encouraging such activity will be immediately removed.
Examples of illegal activity:
Harassing or threatening other members or invading their privacy.
Asking for or offering photocopies of patterns.
Copying and posting of material from places other than this BB (please place a link to the quote instead where possible).
Trafficking of illegal or controlled substances (this includes medications obtained via prescription, or substances that are legal in one country but illegal in another).
Asking for or offering copies of videos or DVDs or CDs (or any other copyright protected media).

Cross-Posting
Cross-Posting across Bulletin Boards is not encouraged. Do not link to a post on another board.
If you must cross post, then please copy your text into a new post in TSV Bulletin Board instead of posting the link to another Board.
Spam
Spamming will not be tolerated on any TSV Forum and spammers will be banned from the community.
If a member spots any spam, please do not post to the thread, or click any links that appear in the spammer's post. Please contact the moderator of the forum or TSV Administration. It will be given the proper attention at the soonest possible time.
Moving of Posts
There may be instances when a post needs to be moved to a more appropriate forum because it's not in the right place. The forum moderator will do this if it is deemed necessary.
Use the private/personal message option to contact other members.
Removal of Posts and Locking of Threads
Posts that have been determined to be deliberately disruptive, harassing, or defamatory will be locked and moved to the archives. Any posts that are deemed too offensive or illegal in nature will be deleted.
The moderators and/or TSV Administration will attempt to be aware of threads that are heating up, and will post to divert the thread back on track in a calmer vein. If this fails, or the request is ignored, then the thread will be locked and moved.
Please abide by this request, else you may be subjected to further action (please see further down for details).
Complaints
If you wish to register a complaint, you may do so one of a couple of ways:
Contact a moderator directly about the issue
Contact TSV administrator directly about the issue
Most of the moderators of TSV Bulletin Board either have a public email address, or have their private/personal message option active.
If you have a complaint about a post or another member of TSV Bulletin Board (that pertains to the community, a specific post, etc), please contact the forum moderator or TSV Administration explaining the situation. Due consideration will be given due to *all* complaints received.
If you have a complaint about the manner in which a moderator conducts themselves or by the way they manage their forum, by all means, please contact TSV Administration.
Please keep personal issues with other board members or other boards off TSV Bulletin Board. Please deal with these issues privately or you may be subjected to further action (please see further down for details).
Issues that start on other boards should stay on those other boards. Please do not bring them to TSV Bulletin Board. To do so *will* result in the threads being shut down, and may require further action (see below)
Banning of Members ("further action" )
As mentioned previously, there are a few things that could get you banned from the community.
Examples:
Individuals who have been banned at other stitching communities for infractions such as those listed below or other heinous activities may find themselves in the same situation at TSV BB. Many of the stitching communities share the same sets of guidelines and not allowing a harbor for someone to cause trouble is for the benefit of the community. This will be dealt with on a case by case basis as they arise.
Members who have been found to be illegally sharing charts on any groups such as Yuku, Yahoo Groups, Google Groups, etc will be banned without question.
Members who post intentionally inflammatory posts and continue that behavior after a warning or who re-post a thread after it has been locked and moved will be banned.
Members who cross-post issues that have started on other boards in order to gain sympathy or to start tempers flaring will also face banning.
Members who post about other members in a mean or malicious manner, or in order to draw someone out into an argument will be banned.
Members who stoop so low as to send Hate Mail will be banned - if and when their identity is revealed.
Name calling is not allowed and can result in banning.
Personal attacks on any individual - member of the TSV community at large, stores, designers, moderators, or TSV administration will *not* be tolerated and banning will most likely occur.
Basically any members who post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually-oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law, infringe on the copyright of any person, post spam, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations, can expect to be banned from the TSV Bulletin Board.
Disruptive behavior in general will *not* be tolerated.
Members can be banned by user name and this method will be used unless we find that banned members are re-joining under a different user name. This will result in a ban by IP address.
Banning of members can only be done by TSV Administration. Discussion of banning may come up between the Administration staff and the Moderator staff, unless immediate action is needed.
